SINGAPORE [20 June 2016] –
The 5th edition of the Echelon Asia Summit, Asia’s premier technology and business event celebrating Asia’s brightest technology and digital innovations, concluded on 16 June 2016 with a record high attendance of 4,000 delegates from more than 14 countries. The Summit also unveiled the winner of its highly-anticipated TOP100 Startup Search after rounds of intense live pitches to a panel of judges.

The winner of TOP100Startup Search is Softinn, a Malaysia-based tech travel startup that focuses on Vacation House Host solutions. Softinn won the Echelon Asia Summit grand prize of an exclusive ‘Platinum Pass’ to all South-east Asian Echelon conferences for the next one year, personal introductions to potential investors and partners for the next three months.

Echelon TOP100 Startup Search sieved through over 800 regional submissions for Asia’s next rising startup. The top 11, selected through regional qualifying rounds, pitched on stage at the Echelon Asia Summit to a panel of judges who hail from leading venture capital firms such as Global Brain, Incubate Fund, Vertex Ventures, Walden International and Venturra Capital.

This year’s Echelon TOP100 Startup Search also unveiled another winner – Simgo, an Israel and Singapore-based startup offering cloud-based virtual SIM for mobile devices. As the winner of an award presented by the Institute of Information Industry in Taiwan, Simgo will receive a roundtrip ticket to Taipei and the opportunity to exhibit and pitch at the IDEAS Show with representatives from APEC member countries.

Echelon Asia Summit 2016 achieves a new high

The 5th edition of the Echelon Asia Summit concluded on a positive note. More than 200 exhibitors, including startups and fintech companies, participated in the summit this year. This year’s edition also saw a 60% increase in attendance compared to the 2015 edition.

We are already looking forward to hosting next year’s edition with a new theme and programming that will weave the diverse Asian startup ecosystem into a stronger community.”

Echelon Asia Summit is set to return to Singapore in June 2017.
